Delta Sigma Theta is committed to public service. The sorority addresses the needs of the community through its Five Point Thrust Program. This program consists of:

In keeping with the Five Point Thrust Program of Delta, the Alpha Xi sorors have implemented many projects in the Orangeburg area, continuing to illustrate Deltas commitment to public service.
Relay For Life
Every April, the chapter participates in the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life”. Relay for Life is a 24-hour event in which teams take turns walking or running around a path. The chapter raises money and participates in the event annually.
Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month sorors go and play games, converse and interact with the residents of the Jolly Acres Nursing Home.
Sorors get up and clean our designated section of Highway 601.
The ladies of Alpha Xi assist in the annual Campus Clean Up which consists of picking up trash on campus and planting flowers that will beautify our campus.
PACT Academy at Felton Laboratory School
Monday through Thursday form 3-5p.m. sorors assist the students in reading, writing, and math. We tutor the students and increase their literacy and comprehensive skills.
Freshman Move-In Day
The ladies of Alpha Xi assist the freshman at Truth Hall with moving their things in.
An event Alpha Xi held to educate freshman and transfer woman in Truth Hall on the different things that they didn’t learn at Orientation. This event was held within the first two weeks of school during the fall semester. Alpha Xi strives to make the young ladies feel comfortable by encouraging them to be open and honest, just like girl talk.
The Alpha Xi chapter hosts a Bowl-Off during Delta Week, where participating SCSU Organizations donate dog food and other pet items for the SPCA. (The Alpha Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta is a proud sponsor of the Orangeburg SPCA).
